“One of the most important things was always to go in the crowd and hang out and thank every single kid that came out and bought a ticket. Most of the kids who come to the shows still have to pay for tickets. They don’t get CDs for free, and they work very hard at stupid jobs that they hate. When they choose to spend 10 or 15 bucks on a record or on a show, it means the world to us. I think the least we could do is acknowledge that and come and hang out. It’s not that hard for us to do that. To me, to go out and spend an hour or two every show and sign and talk and get to know who likes our band, that’s probably my favourite part of playing shows.”
